This past week I almost lost my wife

This past Monday I thought my wife and I were celebrating another chance to become parents. Within 24 hours I found myself praying that she would survive.
What started as excitement quickly turned into fear. My wife began experiencing severe pain Tuesday at 3 am, and we rushed to the emergency room, not knowing what was wrong.
After a series of tests, the doctors discovered she was experiencing another ectopic pregnancy. The pregnancy had implanted in her fallopian tube, which had ruptured and was causing life threatening internal bleeding.
The hospital did everything they could, but they weren’t equipped to perform the emergency surgery she needed to save her life. Because time was critical, she was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to another hospital while I followed behind.
Those were some of the longest and most terrifying red lights of my life. I had no idea what the outcome would be. I only knew that my wife was fighting for her life, and there was nothing I could do except pray.

Upon arriving, she was taken into emergency surgery. The surgeons later told me they had to remove her fallopian tube to stop the internal bleeding and save her life. There was no way to save our baby.
In just a matter of hours, we experienced a rollercoaster of emotions. We lost the child we had just began to love, and I came heartbreakingly close to losing my wife too. The silence that follows news like this is impossible to describe.
We're still trying to process this. This wasn’t even our first loss, it was our 6th. Our journey to becoming parents has been marked by infertility, heartbreak, doctor’s appointments, emergency room visits, procedures, and countless prayers. Even after every setback, we continue to hope that one day we’ll finally bring our baby home.
I'm creating this GoFundMe because there are just too many people that know the same God we know, the one who provides. Many people have asked how they can help. Here is just one way how.
If you know my wife, you know she’s the first person to show up for others. She pours herself into her work, her faith, her family, and her community. She gives generously, loves deeply, and rarely asks anyone for help. That’s why I, her husband, am writing this.
Her doctors expect at least eight weeks of recovery from surgery. During that time, she’ll be unable to work and I'll be off for two weeks as well. Expenses from multiple emergency room visits, the ambulance transfer, emergency surgery, follow up appointments, medications, and the wages she’ll lose while recovering are a bit too much for us to handle on our own.
No one prepares for a medical emergency like this. No one expects to lose a child. No husband ever imagines he’ll spend a day wondering if he’ll lose both his wife and the life of a child but here we are.
If you feel led to help, every donation will go toward medical bills, emergency transportation, follow up care, lost wages, and helping ease the financial burden while my wife focuses on healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
If you’re unable to give, we completely understand. Your prayers, words of encouragement, and reading our story means more than words can suffice.
The road ahead won’t be easy, but we have been made fully aware that we do not have to walk it alone. Thank you for lifting us up during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers are a reminder that even in heartbreak, hope still exists.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Liam
