Generosity giving update

To our family, friends, and every single person who gave, From the bottom of my heart… thank you.

Because of your generosity, we not only reached our fundraising goal, we exceeded it in less than a week’s time. Even now, people continue to give, and we are overwhelmed by the kindness and compassion we’ve experienced. To see how much we have raised to date visit here https://gofund.me/ea55e8327

Your support has done so much more than help financially. Because of you, Liam was able to take two weeks away from work to care for me full time. He has been by my side through every challenge, helping me navigate the physical limitations that followed surgery with patience, and love as well as my shoulder to cry on.

Because of you, I am able to remain off work for the full recovery period recommended by my surgeons and doctors. The burden of worrying about finances has been lifted, allowing me to focus on what matters most: healing physically, mentally, and emotionally. Thank you for giving me the space to do that. The road ahead is still long, but because of all of you, I can finally give my recovery the attention it deserves.

Growing forward

The past few weeks have changed my life in ways I’m still trying to understand. With this unexpected season of stillness, I’m returning to something that has always helped me heal: writing.

Many of you have told me over the years that my words, especially those written through seasons of pain, encouraged you and helped you feel seen. Writing has always allowed me to express the parts of myself that are harder to put into words out loud. While most people know me for my personality and energy, my writing has always revealed the quieter parts of my heart.

So, I’m bringing back my blog. I used to be someone who processed everything out loud. These days, I find myself holding my words a little closer, choosing instead to pour them in writing.

Even more special, this time, Liam will be joining me. He’s an incredibly gifted writer himself, and together we’ll be sharing this new chapter under a series we’re calling “Life After Loss”. We’ll write honestly about grief, healing, faith, marriage, hope, and what it looks like to rebuild after life changes in an instant.

Recovery Update

I had my two week post operative appointment this week.

Overall, my doctors are pleased with my progress, but my incisions are healing a little slower than expected, so they’ll be monitoring them more closely over the next few weeks.

They also believe that during surgery, while completing the internal sutures, some nerves were affected. Unfortunately, that’s been the source of much of the pain I’ve been experiencing.

Honestly… OUCH. That internal nerve pain has been far more intense than the discomfort from the three external incision sites.

Recovery is definitely teaching me patience!

One thing I never imagined I’d miss so much?

Laughing, Coughing,Sneezing and so much more 🥲!

Things I completely took for granted until every single one of them became an Olympic event.

Thank you, again, for loving us so well. We will remember this for the rest our my lives ❤️‍🩹🙏🏾
